The SMAI Competition Kettlebell definitely has the upper hand over the regular dumbbell with its unique design. Similar to that of a cannon-ball with a handle attached, the Competition Kettlebell does not change outside dimensions as you move throughout the weight range. This means that unlike the normal cast-iron kettlebells there is no need to adjust your technique to accommodate for the change in size as you become stronger.

The Competition Kettlebell is constructed from steel making SMAI kettlebells a functional way of training that will have you improve your cardiovascular and functional strength capacity. The kettlebell is commonly used in the sport of CrossFit® whether to help in working on their form for more complex movements, to work on their fitness for an upcoming competition or in a WOD. Some popular exercises include the kettlebell swing or in differing versions of a squat - making it a versatile addition to any space.

Specifications

  • Solid steel design

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN COMPETITION KETTLEBELLS AND CAST IRON KETTLEBELLS?

Competition Kettlebells have the exact same size, shape and handle thickness regardless of weight changes. That means that you will not need to change your grip or forearm position, and can focus on consistent technique no matter what the size. They are also contructed from steel, which is longer lasting and more durable than cast iron.

On the other hand, Cast Iron Kettlebells will increase in physical shape and handle thickness as the weight increases. The space between the handle and body vary slightly with each size. While Cast Iron Kettlebells are quite cheaper than Competition Kettlebells, they are still constructed from solid cast iron material and coated with durable powder-coat for a long lasting finish.
